CSCS – Frequently Asked Questions

A) This is a multiple choice test in health and safety in construction. This test is usually taken on a touch screen.

You can buy various learning materials such as books and DVD’s to help prepare for the test by clicking here. Please ensure you buy the correct book for the correct test.

The books are available in English only, however the DVD’s are available in various languages. Please contact us for more information.

There are test centres across the UK and we can fit you in at the most convenient one for you.

Generally, after you’ve booked and paid for a test we can have you doing the test in just a few days. For instance, in London, it’s usually the same day and outside London it can be 3-5 days.
The test is fairly straightforward and will cover questions related to your day-to-day job on a construction site. You will, however be expected to have knowledge of specific health and safety procedures.

The best way to prepare for the CITB test is by reading the CITB Health Safety & Environment Test training book. It’s an excellent source of information to help you and those around you be safe on site.

Should you fail the CITB test, we can rebook you immediately. It may be wise to consider purchasing the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test training book for revision should you re-sit your test.

This depends on a number of factors such as your job, experience, qualifications and whether you belong to a professional body.

Once you’ve passed your CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test, you’ll become eligible for a CSCS card, which we’ll be able to supply to you.
